Inviting Your Team

Two types of users

In Vistaly, there are two primary classes of users:

  • Editors - Editors are users who can create/delete/re-organize cards on the tree, update the position of cards in the roadmap, update KPI/Outcome metric values, and attach Insights to cards.
  • Viewers - Viewers can see everything in all of the workspaces but can’t create/edit any of the content.

Editors

Who you should add as Editors

You should definitely add each Product Manager (from individual contributors all the way up through product execs).

You should probably add a seat for any researcher/designer/eng lead that materially participates in discovery.

How to add Editors

To invite team members to collaborate in a workspace, click the ”+ Team” button at the top right of the workspace or go to the Manage Team page in the settings.

Seat limits depend on your plan

  • During trial - During your trial period, Editor seats are uncapped. When your trial is ending, you may need to remove some Editors in order to select the plan you want to move forward with
  • For “Solo” plan subscribers - The Solo plan comes with 1 Editor seat and you are not able to pay for additional Editor seats.
  • For “Small Team” plan subscribers - The Small Team plan comes with 5 Editor seats and you can pay $10/mo/user for up to 5 additional Editors seats (for a total of 10).
  • For “Product Organization” plan subscribers - The Product Organization plan comes with 20 Editor seats and you can pay $10/mo/user for up to 20 additional Editors seats (for a total of 40).

Viewers

All plans (other than the Solo plan) come with unlimited Viewers so that you can easily share context about what the Product team is working with the rest of your company.

How to add Viewers

To invite Viewers, click the “+Team” button at the top right of the workspace or go to the Manage Team page in the settings.

Make sure to flip over to the “Viewers” tab.

Permissions for Admins, Editors, and Viewers

When adding a user, you’ll have the option give them a “Role”. Roles have the following permission levels.
